With five films on the go and her two-year-old by her side, Milla Jovovich is making the most of every Hollywood minute. As the star of the Resident Evil series and the 2009 horror movie A Perfect Getaway, 34-year-old Milla Jovovich plays escapists of all sorts. But in her own action-packed life, the last thing Jovovich can or wants to do is escape. In fact, she’s as focused as ever — she has back-to-back films coming out this fall, in addition to her prioritized role of supermom to her two-year-old daughter, Ever, with her husband, director Paul W.S. Anderson.

First up is Resident Evil: Afterlife, and then the psychological thriller Stone, which premiered at TIFF. Jovovich holds her own among a seasoned cast, including Robert De Niro and Edward Norton, as Lucetta Stone, the sultry wife of a convicted arsonist. However, she admits that it’s working on the independent films that keeps her at the top of her game. In the comedy Dirty Girl, another TIFF premiere, she plays the down-and-out mom of the titular character, and in the upcoming thriller Faces in the Crowd, she plays a survivor of a serial killer’s attack. It doesn’t stop there — she’s the lead in Bringing Up Bobby, the directorial debut of fellow actress Famke Janssen, playing a con artist who drags her son to Oklahoma to start a new life.

On a rare day when she wasn’t saving the world one zombie at a time, stretching her indie acting muscles or providing (occasional) vocals for the band Puscifer, Jovovich spoke with Fashion about upcoming projects, her friends Miuccia and Karl, and the possibility of giving little Ever a sibling…

THINK MILLA Jovovich, the hard-hitting heroine of "Resident Evil" fame, is just another model who decided to become an actress? Think again. Jovovich, whose family left Ukraine when she was 5, was an actress first, starting at the age of 9. She took lessons - her mother was also an actress - and got her first role at 11.

When she needed new head shots, the photographer put "a bunch of makeup on me," as she recalls it, and sent the photos to the owner of a modeling agency, whom he knew. When people saw the photos, Jovovich said, they were taken aback by how mature the young Milla looked, but she says she was merely pretending to be her mom dressing up for a night out.

"That, however, was my weird little doorway into the modeling world," she said last month at the Toronto International Film Festival. "The modeling really took off in a big way and there was a lot of controversy and brouhaha about my age and what I was exuding in pictures."

This Emilio Pucci frock is so easy to wear it's comes as no surprise that not one but two celebs have turned to it in their red carpet hour of need.

Resident Evil zombie-ass-kicker Milla wore this dress first, choosing the Daz Ultra white version paired with teetering Sergio Rossi peep toe heels for the premiere of Stone at the beginning of the month.

Julia Roberts' niece Emma soon followed, only she decided on the moody black lace dress for her appearance at the Spike Scream Awards at the weekend. Em chose black Brian Atwood Wagner heels and a studded clutch.

Both ladies embraced their pale and beautiful sides, Emma may have even consulted a pic of Milla to practise her pose, but who wins the one-sleeved battle for you? [SOURCE]

Milla Jovovich is loved by geeks because of the Resident Evil films, but her new movie, Stone, is a serious departure. She talks to Nicole LaPorte about acting with Robert De Niro.

In interviews with Milla Jovovich, men are always falling all over themselves, and, in some cases, trying to keep their gaze above the neck-line. Just check out her sit-down with Conan O’Brien, back in 1994, when Jovovich showed up to the late-night talk show braless.

This was long before her Resident Evil fame, and the 18-year-old supermodel was dressed in funky hippie couture: long, flowery skirt, pink T-shirt, and black Converse sneakers. As she chatted with O’Brien—whose eyes remained steadily focused on her 100-watt smile—she was like a kid who’d just downed eight cans of Coke, bursting out with strange jokes, bragging about her smoking habit, and doubling over in too-hearty laughter.

That was then. Sitting down with Jovovich recently, there was no evidence of any cocky brattiness. Now 34, and a wife and mother, Jovovich exuded a distinct demureness as she sat on a sofa in a hotel suite in Toronto, where in September she was promoting her new film, Stone, which opened this weekend. She was wearing an elegant, strapless dress and no jewelry, save for the diamond rock on her left hand (she’s married to Resident Evil director Paul W. S. Anderson) and a pair of feathery earrings. Her copper-colored hair fell to her shoulders in soft waves.

Hollywood’s preeminent zombie-hunting ex-model, Milla Jovovich, took time out of her busy shooting schedule on the Germany-based set of The Three Musketeers, her husband Paul W.S. Anderson’s foray into the realm of period-accurate, 3D adaptations of cherished literary classics, to chat with me about her gripping new drama Stone, in which she stars alongside Edward Norton and Robert De Niro. To her credit, she successfully parried my repeated attempts to bait her into making fun of the curious hairstyle that adorns Norton’s head in the film. You win this round, Jovovich.

Your role in Stone is quite a bit different than what we’ve grown used to seeing from you. I was curious about how it came up on your radar, and were you surprised that it did?
I definitely was really happy to get the script. Since having my baby, I’ve felt very much more open to just going out, performing, writing and being an artist in general, and feeling like this newfound confidence as a mom and a newfound confidence in myself. Part of that bled over into my film career in the sense that I really wanted to go out and audition for things, really keep on my toes. I was really just into the whole process of being a performer again, just going out and reading for a lot of different stuff. When this came up, of course I just jumped on it ... I compelled by these sort of flawed personalities and these grey areas and the fact the script didn’t really put everything in a neat little package for people. It’s very rare that you get scripts that don’t sort of shove an opinion down your throat, and this is one of them. So I was very interested in the subject matter and very interested in the characters and of course, working with Edward and Bob was unbelievably attractive. What actor wouldn’t want to work with such amazing artists?

'It was like, 'Bob are you OK? Can I fix the pillow?' ' actress says of shooting steamy love scenes.

Far from the outside looking in, some might argue that one of the biggest perks of being an actor is getting to "hook up" with a variety of partners for cinematic love scenes. And while the end results are often highlight-reel material (a.k.a. our coveted MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss), most actors agree that they're not as sexy as fans make them out to be.

Speaking to that subject, MTV News recently caught up with "Stone" actress Milla Jovovich, who shares a few steamy moments with Hollywood legend Robert De Niro. In the film, Jovovich plays the wife of a convicted arsonist (Edward Norton) who is sent by her husband to try and manipulate his parole officer (De Niro) into granting him an early release. We asked Milla about the scenes, specifically how she and De Niro prepared for the racy sequence.

On-screen, actress-model Milla Jovovich has been many things: a dippy stoner-folkie, a pure-as-the-driven-snow Catholic martyr, a vigilant zombie-slayer. But in her latest film, the bleak, ruminative drama Stone, her character isn’t so easily defined. As Lucetta, a morally challenged free spirit whose husband (Edward Norton) prods her to convince his parole officer (Robert De Niro) to release him, she’s effervescent and dark, an innocent and a seductress. Reviews of Stone have been mixed, but they tend to praise Jovovich’s gutsy, unexpected dramatic turn. (This, just a month after Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth installment of the action franchise she carries, celebrated its biggest worldwide opening yet.) The A.V. Club caught up with the ebullient Jovovich to explain her unlikely career trajectory and how her latest role is possibly her most humbling.

The A.V. Club: Your Stone character is fairly complicated. What’s your take on her?
Milla Jovovich:
My first take on her was that she’s kind of like this light in the script—very joyous and fun and tactile and wild and free—in comparison to the other personalities surrounding her, who are all sort of caged in their worlds. I was very attracted to that freedom she has.

Milla Jovovich's daughter, Ever, who's almost 3, was inspired by her mother's new movie, "Stone" - just not in the way Mom expected.

At the MoMA premiere, Jovovich told us that during filming, which took place in the high-security section of a prison, she took her tot to the set and let her sit in a cell, unaware of the pictures of "naked girls tacked up on lockers." When the actress finally noticed the visuals, she said, "I was like, 'Whoa! This is a picture ... I mean ... uh ...' And then I got her out of there!"

But the images had already had an effect. Jovovich said her kid now has "naughty ladies" on the brain, and even wants to be one for Halloween. May we suggest Princess Barbie instead? [SOURCE]

With no fewer than eight films in the pipeline, 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' box office queen Milla Jovovich ($236 million worldwide and counting) hasn't had much time to think of anything but her movie roles of late. However, she admits, "Now that my daughter is almost three, thoughts of a second baby are definitely in my head. I would love to have a big family."

At the same time, the mother of little Ever Gabo Anderson is enjoying her first daughter so much she might take things slow. "Ever is just getting to that stage where she's growing into a little person. She's out of the baby stage, and sometimes I just want to spend time with her and give her my undivided attention instead of going back into that baby world again with a second child. Three, four and five are such great ages."

But part of the big family idea means more free time, Jovovich says. "This has been an unusual year. It's a tight year." Her latest film, the critically-acclaimed drama 'Stone' with Edward Norton and Robert DeNiro, opens in limited release Friday, Oct. 8.
