Resident Evil actress Milla Jovovich stars in the new video from Alkaline Trio. The cult Chicago power-punkers return on April 1 with new album My Shame Is True. As a taster for the forthcoming full-length, the band have debuted brand new single I Wanna Be A Warhol.

The clip below features Jovovich being stalked by a peeping tom. (Warning: no zombies, motorcycles, machine guns or rocket-launchers are in evidence.) And is it just us, or does the chorus go: “I wanna be a warthog”? Just wonderin’…

My Shame Is True will be available for pre-order via www.alkalinetriostore.com. [SOURCE]

First Showing broke the news minutes ago that Paul W.S. Anderson is confirmed to direct the currently untitled Resident Evil 6.

They also confirm that Milla Jovovich will return as Alice in the final installment of the new trilogy Anderson began with Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Anderson plans to start shooting Resident Evil 6 this fall. Screen Gems will keep with the fall release pattern and unroll in theaters September 12, 2014.

It’s not all that surprising that the duo are collaborating once again as Anderson left last year’s Resident Evil: Retribution open for a big final that takes place at the White House. [SOURCE]

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has selected a December 21, 2012 release date for Resident Evil: Retribution on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD, just in time to make it available as a stocking stuff or gift this holiday season. Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil: Retribution is the fifth film in the video game-inspired franchise that stars Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory and Michelle Rodriguez. It has earned only $42.1 million at the domestic box office, but strong demand overseas has pushed its worldwide total to $217.7 million thus far.

Additional Resident Evil: Retribution home video details will be available in the coming weeks when Sony makes their official announcement. In the meantime, Amazon pre-order links for the Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray combo packs are below, followed by the probable Blu-ray 3D cover art.

There have been a lot of really bad adaptations of video game movies in Hollywood – and most of them have flopped. Only one director, in fact, has found any real form of critical and commercial success with these films: Paul W.S. Anderson.

While some fans of the Resident Evil games might object to his interpretation of series, it's hard to argue with the box office results. The first four films in the series have earned over $700 million. And Resident Evil: Retribution took in over $108 million worldwide in its first two weeks. (A sixth film has been greenlit.)

How Resident Evil director and cast cope with the criticisms of the RE-Movieverse.

Rodriguez then went on to mock those that slag off the films: "At the end of the day I know that the franchise has its following and it has that following for a reason. "They love the idea of the world destroying itself. So I don't think this franchise is going anywhere soon - even with critical 15-year-olds". That's a sure fire way to win them over, Michelle.

In a separate interview Paul W.S. Anderson confirmed his view that it's more about what the fans think than the press, saying: "When the audience are on their chairs cheering, that's my job done!" 'Resident Evil' star (and Anderson's wife) Milla Jovovich chipped in to explain that if you put the people that criticise the films in one room and ask them to do better, they'd end up killing each other. In between flirting with Yahoo! Movies and telling us that she loves British guys (because we're smart) she jokingly mocks "the haters" of the franchise. And after five films, you can rather see her point. Watch the full interview @link. [SOURCE]

Fifth installment outdoes predecessor

Overseas auds proved game yet again for Sony-Screen Gems' "Resident Evil: Retribution," as the franchise's fifth installment, "Retribution," grossed nearly $50 million from 59 debut territories over the Sept. 14-16 frame. The film outdid its 2010 predecessor "Afterlife," which bowed to $39 million, by about 28%, from approximately same profile of day-and-date markets as "Retribution," throughout southeast Asia and Latin America.
