Some bad (and rather strange) news via Vasilij today. To begin with just the bad news, it looks like the Russian theatrical release of Vykrutasy (Выкрутасы) has been posponed from November 2010 to February 17 2011 — a little Googling will show you the new date is all over the Russian media. Why the film has been postponed hasn’t been specified, but this obviously means there won’t be a November premiere event in Moscow for Milla to attend, either. Can I just say… damn!

In somewhat stranger news, it appears the new trailer for the film we posted on the site yesterday has been banned from being shown in Russian theaters. Apparently, the Cyrillic first letters of the surnames of stars Konstantin Khabenskiy (Константин Хабенский), Ivan Urgant (Иван Ургант) and Milla Jovovich (Милы Йовович) form a word in Russian that in English translates to “penis”, and because this has been made a point of in the trailer, it has consequently been forbidden from theatrical display. Fans fluent in Russian can learn the whole story from this MTV Russia news report:

So, not a great day for Vykrutasy, then. Many thanks to Vasilij for passing on the news to us!

Japanese fans of Milla are really being treated with goodies this month! Earlier today, Milla Jovovich attended the Tokyo Launch Event for the iCB “Capsule Collection by Milla”, the anticipated first line of clothing from Milla since Jovovich-Hawk folded in 2008. Also there to support Milla was her longtime friend and musician Chris Brenner. Check out the first 27 photos from the event at our gallery!

The iCB website iCB-Brand.com has also been updated with lots of new stuff. To begin with, we have the first five ads from Milla’s campaign for the new collection, as photographed by another longtime friend, Mario Sorrenti; as some of you will recall, Milla previewed some fresh pictures from the campaign via Twitter a couple of months ago. There’s also a really great behind-the-scenes video clip from the photoshoot on the iCB website; unfortunately, we are as-of-yet unable to embed it here, but you’ll find it by following this link and going to “Behind the Scene”.

Finally, we extracted this from the iCB website. It’s in Japanese so we have no idea what it says, but as you can see for yourself there are a couple of small but nice pictures of Milla and the design process:

With writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D getting released on September 10, Screen Gems has released the full press kit and included are four movie clips, a new featurette, and about nine minutes of B-Roll (Behind the Scenes Footage) from the set.

As you might imagine, the featurette cuts between footage from the movie and the actors talking about their roles and the film. The B-Roll is great for fans of the franchise as you can see what it was like on set and how they made the 3D movie. Finally, the clips give you a taste of the finished film. Hit the jump to check everything out:

With Piranha 3D already in wide release, we are only two weeks away from a battle, as Resident Evil: Afterlife breaks into theaters and the two try and co-exist. Considering Piranha's low take in its first first weekend, most theaters will likely bump the Alexandre Aja film in favor of Paul W.S. Anderson's newest entry. Shot in 3D using the same cameras as James Cameron, it may be the first live action film to truly do the medium right. Unfortunately for the marketing, computers are not yet ready for 3D video, so you'll have to enjoy these three new clips in 2D.

UGO, Yahoo!, and MySpace have all received an exclusive clip from the fourth Resident Evil film. In them, you will see Alice and her clone wasting soldiers of the Umbrella Corporation, blowing away zombies with a massive explosion and trying to land a plane on a very small roof. You know, standard Resident Evil stuff. Watch the clips behind the cut:

What's better than Milla Jovovich machine-gunning her way down an elevator shaft? Two of her!

We are almost a mere fortnight away from the release of Paul W.S. Anderson's newest entry in the Resident Evil franchise, Afterlife. Conceived for 3D and shot using James Cameron's Pace-Fusion, RE:A is prepared to exploit every millimeter of that Z axis.

Which is not to say it won't look cool in 2D - or even on your monitor. With that in mind, dig this amazing clip of some cloned Alice action, taking the express route down an elevator shaft. And be sure to check out our upcoming Resident Evil contest, where you can win cool RE swag and maybe even the most awesome prop replica in the history of time.

One more clip from the Resident Evil: Afterlife official website, featuring the Alice clones and their 'needle-dive' assault on the Japanese Umbrella HQ (pretty much everything you've seen from the trailers, save one little bit).
