"Vykrutasy” (“The Whims”) –a comedy-adventure with a Russian twist, starring Hollywood sweetheart Milla Jovovich – mixes love, luck, and humor.
The movie from debut-director Leo Gabriadze, who studied in California and in Tbilisi, promises to revive the best traditions of Soviet comedies, which are recognized for their cheerful spirit and artistic delivery. In fact, Gabriadze first made a name for himself as an actor, playing one of the lead roles in “Kin-Dza-Dza”, Georgy Danelia’s cult 1986-comedy. Having majored in computer graphics and animation at California University, he worked in advertising, making commercials for a number of leading Russian and foreign brands. Has it helped him feel more confident on the set of his debut?
