Sony has launched a new 3D awareness documentary that pumps the technology appearing in theatrical, Blu-ray and Playstation 3 films and games.

Resident Evil: Afterlife director Paul Anderson logically does much of the 3D pitch considering his upcoming sequel is the first film to utilize James Cameron's 3D technology since Avatar. Also covered in the brief documentary is Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs for Blu-ray 3D and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift for PS3.

Will the Sony 3D World documentary sell you on shelling out thousands of dollars for a robust 3D set-up at home? No, but it's still worth a watch if only for the snippets of Resident Evil: Afterlife.
