adore_millaA TRIP OVER TO Millaj.com's Resident Evil 5 forum proved to be quite interesting. For instance, there's a forum user (lukepowers_16) who's keeping up with the RE5 "Retribution" news (both there and @ IMDB.com) that states the following information about the fifthquel has been confirmed:
The Shawn Roberts bit I believe to be true, but the parts about Ada and Leon are smelling of the rumor mill. The way I remember it is that Paul, at first, didn't want to add Leon S. Kennedy into the movieverse because of the promotional information that provided a backstory for Jill in Apocalypse. Granted, there's a huge loophole seeing as none of us saw the death of Leon, but still.
Then there's the "confirmation" of putting Leon in the next film and wanting him in Afterlife but choosing not to for last minute changes for the script. Its been a year, so my knowledge on this bit is a bit rusty, but the way I remember it, Paul was considering Leon for the next sequels, I doubt his character has been confirmed in a 100% sense. Then there's the Ada Wong announcement; I can't remember when she was confirmed for RE5 and this sounds more like a fandom wish anything so we'll see how this pans out. She'll have to do a lot more than act as Wesker's secretary if she even does show up (her addition to RE4 back in the day felt more like an indirect reference to Alice with the "Red Dress" visual cues and the The Matrix IMHO).
The explanation for Jill's disappearance is pretty much a given seeing as she's showing up in RE5. That's not something they're bound to gloss over given her absence in Extinction four years ago. And the whole Opening Sequence for RE5 bit is a possible given, but an absolute one. And the confirmation that its been called Resident Evil: Evolution? Where'd that come from? All in all, Milla hasn't said anything about this stuff (on her Twitter) as far as I can remember and Paul has remained silent for the most part outside of filming locations and the like, so we'll see how this pans out when the movie actually goes into production.
